Unison Bank accepting gift donations for Wishek Living Center residents

‘Tis the season for giving, spreading joy and cheer and spending time with loved ones. Unison Bank is seeking gift donations once again to provide a small token of Christmas joy to the residents at the Wishek Living Center.

Unison Bank is seeking gift donations once again to provide a small token of Christmas joy to the residents at the Wishek Living Center.

Since 1994, Unison Bank in Wishek, N.D., has decorated a tree in their lobby with the names and gift requests of the residents from the Wishek Living Center. Unison Bank’s Care & Share Tree offers a chance for the community to share joy with individuals who might not receive a gift otherwise.

“Knowing that the gifts from the community will bring joy to our nursing home residents makes this holiday tradition so special,” shared Unison Bank Loan Assistant, Tzilka Andre. Andre helps organize the Care & Share Tree and Santa event. “To me, the holidays aren’t just a season, but a feeling. The warmth of laughing with people around you and the quiet joy of making someone’s world a little brighter. It’s remembering that the best gifts we can give are presence and kindness.”

Andre encourages those in the community who’ve contributed gifts in the past, and those who would like to provide a gift, to stop in at the Unison Bank Wishek branch and select a name from the Care & Share Tree.

Unison Bank has requested that all gifts be wrapped and returned to the bank by December 22nd. This ensures that they will be distributed to the residents in time for Christmas.

“It’s important to give back to the community in any way. It strengthens the bonds between us and creates the kind of place you want to live in,” said Andre. “The Care & Share Tree allows everyone to do this.”

The Care & Share Tree has provided approximately 50 items per year to residents at the Wishek Living Center.
