01 Dec Unison Bank seeks donations for Care & Share Tree
‘Tis the season for giving, spreading joy and cheer and spending time with loved ones. Unison Bank is seeking gift donations once again to provide a small token of Christmas joy to the residents at the Wishek Living Center.
Since 1994 Unison Bank in Wishek, N.D., has decorated a tree in their lobby with the names and gift requests of the residents from the Wishek Living Center. Unison Bank’s Care & Share Tree provides an opportunity for the community to share joy with individuals who might not receive a gift otherwise.
“The local nursing home residents look forward to these gifts each year,” shared Unison Bank Loan Assistant, Patti Meidinger. Meidinger helps organize the Care & Share Tree and Santa event. “Ever since the pandemic, residents can’t have visitors like they used to. The holiday season is about spreading joy, being around loved ones and sharing with those who might not have anything to share.”
Meidinger encourages those in the community who’ve contributed gifts in the past, and those who would like to provide a gift, to stop in at the Unison Bank Wishek branch and select a name from the Care & Share Tree.
Unison Bank is requested that all gifts be wrapped and returned to the bank by December 19th. This ensures that they will be distributed to the residents in time for Christmas. Monetary donations are also accepted.
“It’s important to give back, in big and/or small ways, to our community,” said Meidinger. “This is a perfect way for anyone to do just that.”
The Care & Share Tree has provided approximately 50 plus items per year to the Wishek Living Center residents.
