20 Dec Unison Bank makes pledge to Wishek swimming pool project
As the holidays draw nearer, Unison Bank is making a generous impact in the community of Wishek, N.D., by spreading Christmas cheer.
Unison Bank has made a pledge with the Wishek Park Board to help fund the renovation of its community swimming pool.
“It is because of the support we receive from you, the community, that we can contribute in this way. Your patronage made this donation possible.” said Unison Bank Ag & Commercial Banking Officer and Wishek native, Jake Herr. “This is a prime example of the benefits that come from supporting local businesses.
“At Unison Bank, we are proud of our community bank heritage,” said Herr. “We find it important to give back and help develop the communities we are in.”
Unison Bank recently donated $25,000 of a $75,000 pledge to the Wishek Park Board so that they are one step closer to making the $1.5 million. The $75,000 is pledged over a three-year span. Their hope is to raise $1 million by the end of 2023 towards this goal.
“On be half of the Wishek Park Board, we cannot thank you enough for your generous donation. We are very excited to be that much closer to reaching our goal,” said Wishek Park Board VP, Sara Gross.
The current pool was dedicated in 1942. After serving the community well for more than 80 years, the time has come for an extensive renovation. Plans include the remodeling of the existing bathhouse, added water features, zero-entry access, new polymer liner, modern gutters and filtration system, as well as the creation of a splash pad.
“This is a very exciting project for our community,” said Gross. “We are anxiously awaiting the start of the new pool construction that will begin in the fall of 2024.”
Renovations to the swimming pool are expected to be complete by 2025.
