“The school is a center of activity in Montpelier. It is important to have a good sound system in place when hosting school and community events.” said Unison Bank Chief Credit Officer ND and Montpelier Public School Alum, Mark Domek.

At Unison Bank, we are proud of our community bank heritage, said Domek. We find it important to give back and help develop the communities we are in.

Unison Bank recently donated $2,500 to the Montpelier Public School so that they are one step closer to making the $32,000 payment towards the new audio system. As of December 6th, 2023, they have raised $17,500 towards this goal.

“We are excited that our community worked with the school district to provide a mixture of private and public funds for this project. The private funds donated paid for over half of the costs of the project and reduces the share local taxpayers needed to contribute to the sound system through our school’s general fund” shared, Montpelier Public School Superintendent, Phil Leitner.

Montpelier Public School raised $10,000 towards the project from a recent school raffle and $7,500 from generous community members, including Unison Bank.

Montpelier Public School Board President, Scott Harms, shared, “The support for our sound system reaffirms the public’s confidence in our school, it’s mission and the dedication to our youth.”

Leitner shared that the new audio system is expected to be delivered and installed prior to May of 2024.

The new system will reduce the amount of echo that makes their current system difficult to understand. It will include an upgraded digital sound board which will provide remote operating capabilities and ease of use for its operators. Leitner shared that their current speakers will also be replaced with eight directionally focused speakers throughout the gym to allow even audio distribution. Additional wireless microphones and body packs will allow those presenting to move freely throughout the area.

Leitner said, “We greatly appreciate Unison Bank’s support with this project. Thank you to the community’s support which will allow us to increase the functionality of our sound system and benefit those attending our events including student assemblies, graduation, bingo, school programs and various community events.”
